📍 Location: Mugbasan, Paschim Medinipur
Overview:
Many individuals in rural areas are unaware of their blood sugar and blood pressure levels, which can lead to severe complications like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke if left undiagnosed. To address this, PMABHCS organized a free checkup camp, providing essential screenings and medical advice.
Event Highlights:
✅ Free blood sugar & blood pressure checkups – Trained medical professionals conducted tests using digital glucometers and BP monitors. The results were instantly available, allowing patients to understand their health conditions on the spot.
✅ Personalized consultation with doctors – Those with high or low sugar and BP levels were given one-on-one consultations with doctors. Patients were advised on proper diet, exercise, and medication if necessary.
✅ Basic medicines and dietary guidance – Based on the test results, patients received free medicines like antihypertensive drugs, sugar-control tablets, and vitamin supplements. Doctors also provided a diet chart for managing blood pressure and sugar naturally.
✅ Awareness session on lifestyle changes – A short awareness session was conducted where experts explained:
- The importance of reducing salt and sugar intake.
- The need for regular physical activity like walking or yoga.
- Early warning signs of hypertension and diabetes and when to seek medical help.
Impact:
Over 250+ people attended the camp, and nearly 40% of them had high blood sugar or BP but were previously unaware. This event helped them take preventive steps before serious complications arose.
